What is a prop firm, and how does WhitePips work?

A proprietary trading firm backs traders with its own capital instead of asking them to risk their own. At WhitePips you buy a one time evaluation, trade a simulated account to a published profit target without breaching its loss limits, and are then funded — after which you keep the large majority of the profit you make. Every account is simulated on a demo environment: the payouts are real money, but no capital of yours is ever at market risk.

What is the difference between One Step and Instant?

One Step is an evaluation: reach the profit target inside an end of day trailing Maximum Loss Limit and you are funded, for a lower one-time fee. Instant funds you the moment you buy, with an intraday trailing Max Loss, a 20% consistency rule and a Payout Milestone before every payout. Both pay 90%, on demand.

Which futures plan should I choose?

Two. One Step is a single evaluation with no consistency rule and no minimum days, so it can be passed in one day. Instant skips the evaluation entirely. Both pay 90% on demand once the payout conditions are met.

Is there a time limit?

No. The futures evaluation publishes its time limit as None. The one limit on time is Inactivity: 15 days without trading deactivates the account. How long does a futures evaluation take?

As long as you need. The One Step evaluation has no time limit, no minimum number of trading days and no consistency rule, so it passes as soon as the profit target is reached without breaching the Maximum Loss Limit, which can be in a single day. Can I use an expert advisor on futures?

No. Every futures plan publishes a trade copier as permitted, but not expert advisors, so automated trading is not permitted on futures accounts (Trading Rules, section 13.2). You may copy your own trading: between WhitePips futures accounts that you own and trade yourself, or from a futures master account that is genuinely yours. An expert advisor you genuinely developed and control is allowed on the CFD plans.

How much can I get funded for?

On the CFD line, account sizes run from $2.5K to $200K. The futures line runs from $25K to $150K. One trader may hold up to $1.5M across all accounts. Buy more than one and the bundle discount applies to the whole basket: up to 25% off, with up to five accounts in one order.

Can I buy more than one account?

Yes, up to five in one order, and the bundle discount applies to the whole order rather than to the extra accounts only: 10% off at two, 15% at three, 20% at four and 25% at five, the most one order can hold. One trader may hold up to $1.5M across all accounts.

Can I hold futures and CFD accounts at the same time?

Yes. The two lines are separate products with separate rules. The $1.5M allocation ceiling is what applies across everything a single trader holds, on both lines together. One difference to plan for: futures positions are closed at 3:55 PM CT every session, while CFD positions can stay open overnight, and over the weekend with the Weekend Holding add-on. Is there a free trial on futures?

No. The free trial is CFDs only: one per trader, a free Edge 1 Step $100K CFD account for 14 days under the same rules as the paid Edge 1 Step, started once your identity verification is approved. It never becomes a funded account and never pays out; if you pass it, you receive a personal code for 20% off a paid CFD evaluation, valid for 30 days. The futures plans, One Step and Instant, are paid accounts, and the One Step evaluation has no time limit, no minimum number of trading days and no consistency rule. The free trial, explained

What is the difference between a soft breach and a hard breach?

A hard breach ends the account at once: trading is switched off and the account's profit is void. On futures accounts these rules can do that: Inactivity, Maximum Loss Limit, Max Loss Type. Daily Loss Limit is a soft limit: trading pauses until the next session and the account stays open. Maximum Position Size, News Trading, Max Exposure, Max Floating Loss per Trade lead to a warning or a review by the risk desk first. You get an email for every breach and warning. Every rule, explained

What does a reset cost?

If an evaluation breaches, you can restart it within 14 days for the plan's reset fee, which is printed beside the price and equals it — for example $107 on a $50K One Step. A funded One Step that breaches can be reset within 14 days at five times the evaluation fee ($535 on $50K), at most twice and only before its first payout; it comes back funded. Instant has no reset: a new account at a reduced price is offered for 3 days after the breach.

Do I need to know about contract expiry?

Only enough to roll. Futures contracts have delivery months and liquidity sits in the front month; you close or roll a position before expiry rather than holding to it. Nothing is ever delivered to you and there is no settlement to fund.

Targets and trading days

Profit TargetWhat is the profit target on a futures evaluation? The stage waits

The net profit that passes the One Step evaluation. There is one target, no second phase, no consistency rule and no minimum days, so it can be reached in a single day. Instant has no target: it is funded from day one.

Maximum Loss LimitWhat is the Maximum Loss Limit?Ends the account

Max Loss TypeWhat is the difference between EOD trailing and intraday trailing?Ends the account

End-of-day (EOD) trailing, on One Step, moves the floor only at the session close, from your closing balance, so a profit you give back during the day does not raise it. Intraday trailing, on Instant, follows your highest equity during the session, open profit included. Both lock at the starting balance.

Trade CopierCan I copy trades between my futures accounts?Reviewed by the risk desk

Yes, to copy your own trading: between WhitePips futures accounts that you own and trade yourself, or from a futures master account that is genuinely yours, including one at another firm. Futures accounts copy futures accounts only, never a CFD account. Set per size and stated before the 90% split. One Step: $1,000 / $2,000 / $2,500 / $3,000 on the first payout, then $1,500 / $2,500 / $3,000 / $3,500 on every later one ($25K / $50K / $100K / $150K). Instant: $1,000 / $2,000 / $3,000 / $4,000 on every payout. Profit above it stays on the account for the next payout.

What is a consistency rule?

No single trading day may make more than a set share of the payout cycle's total net profit: 40% on the One Step funded account, 20% on Instant. The One Step evaluation has none. Which platform will I trade on?

CFDs run on MetaTrader 5, so your charts, indicators and expert advisors carry over on web, desktop, iPhone and Android. Futures run on Volumetrica, which is built around order flow, volume profile and the live tape rather than retail charting, with its market data arriving over a dxFeed connection. The platform comes with the account, and every new futures account includes 30 days of market data; after that it is $35 for 30 days, paid from your dashboard.

What can I trade?

Three product lines: CFD evaluations, Instant CFD accounts with no evaluation, and futures. CFDs cover forex, indices, commodities and crypto, with the leverage published per plan: 1:100 on Edge 1 Step, Edge 2 Step and Prime 2 Step, 1:50 on Prime 1 Step, 1:33 on Instant Pro and 1:25 on Instant Go. Futures run alongside them under their own rules, with position caps stated in minis and micros. You can hold accounts on all three at once.

How many contracts can I trade on a futures account?

The most contracts open at the same moment. A micro is one tenth of a mini, so the two figures are one limit written twice, and any mix that adds up to the same size is fine. It limits what is open at once, not how many trades you take. Going over it once is a warning; a second time puts the account under review. Maximum Position Size: the figure on each plan

How does an end of day trailing Max Loss work?

End-of-day (EOD) trailing, on One Step, moves the floor only at the session close, from your closing balance, so a profit you give back during the day does not raise it. Intraday trailing, on Instant, follows your highest equity during the session, open profit included. Both lock at the starting balance. Max Loss Type: the figure on each plan

Can I trade the news?

During the One Step evaluation, yes: news trading is not restricted. Once funded (the One Step funded account, and Instant from day one) no trade may be opened or closed from 2 minutes before to 2 minutes after a high-impact ("red") USD release, on any instrument. A position opened before the window may be held through the release. Profit from a trade opened or closed inside the window is removed and any loss stays. The first time is a warning, the second your final warning; a third, or anything that looks deliberate, goes to our compliance team. News Trading: the figure on each plan

Is scalping allowed?

Yes. Microscalping (trades held under 30 seconds) is allowed too, but it cannot be your main source of profit: at most 50% of your profit may come from trades held under 30 seconds. Until you are back under it, the evaluation cannot pass and a payout cannot be requested; the account stays open. High-frequency trading built to exploit execution speed is prohibited. What trading is not allowed?

On every futures plan, at every stage. Ten go to manual review by the risk desk first, which can lead to a warning, profit removal, a refused payout, suspension, a failed evaluation, a closed funded account or a permanent ban: hedging across accounts and platforms, coordinated or group trading, copying another trader’s positions, order queue manipulation, volume inflation, artificial trades to meet a day requirement, strategies that need fills a live market cannot give, gambling behaviour and account rolling, news straddling around Tier 1 releases, and gap or illiquid market trading. Six end the account at once, with no warning, once the desk confirms them, and the profit and any pending payout are forfeited: latency arbitrage and feed errors, spread and exchange arbitrage, market manipulation such as spoofing, high-frequency or algorithmic exploitation, and account sharing or device sharing, which closes every account of both traders. Frequent IP changes, a VPN or a proxy start an enhanced identity check, and trading can be restricted until it is done. Allowed: hedging inside one account (a long and a short on the same contract in mini and micro, or on two different contracts) and martingale within your position and loss limits. The full table is in the Trading Rules, section 20.7.

Is the futures data feed included?

The Volumetrica platform is included. Every new futures account includes 30 days of dxFeed market data; after that it is $35 for 30 days, paid from your dashboard, and nothing renews by itself. If you declare yourself a Professional Subscriber to dxFeed, the professional fee of $540 per calendar month set by the exchange is paid by you.

What does it cost to get funded?

Accounts start at $32, and the price is set by the plan and the account size: from $32 on the smallest Edge 2 Step to $3,278 for a $100K CFD Instant Pro account, which has no evaluation. On the futures line prices start at $81. It is a one time fee, not a subscription. Futures accounts include 30 days of market data; after that it is $35 for 30 days. Is the account fee the final amount I pay?

The fee on the plan is the account fee. Add ons you choose, and the payment provider's transaction fee, are charged on top of it. You will see the total before you confirm, and the bundle discount is applied to the basket rather than to one account.
