## In short

- Scalping is allowed; on CFDs a scalp is a trade held under 120 seconds.
- Once funded, scalps may carry at most 20% of profit, counted from 10 closed trades.
- Going over pauses payouts on that account; it is never a breach.
- On futures, trades under 30 seconds may carry at most 50% of profit.
- Speed-exploiting HFT is prohibited and decided by the risk desk.

Scalping is allowed at WhitePips. What the rules limit is how much of a funded account's profit may come from very short trades, and the limit is a share of profit, not a count of trades. This piece sets out the figures on both lines, what happens when you go over, and how to trade so it never comes up.

## What counts as a scalp on CFDs

On a funded CFD account a trade held under 120 seconds counts as a scalp. Once the account has 10 closed trades, scalps may carry at most 20% of its profit. There is no limit on how many of your trades are scalps.

The limit applies only once the account is funded: it is not checked during the evaluation, in either phase. Instant Pro and Instant Go are funded from the day they are bought, so it applies there from the start.

## A worked example

A funded account shows $4,000 of profit, and trades held under 120 seconds made $1,400 of it: 35%, over the 20% limit. For $1,400 to be 20% of the profit, the account needs $7,000 in all, so $3,000 more from trades held two minutes or longer brings it back inside.

## What going over does

Nothing is closed and nothing is breached. While scalping profit is over 20%, payouts on that account are paused and no payout can be requested from it. Profit from longer trades brings the share back down, and once it is back inside the limit, payouts open again by themselves. Your other accounts are not affected.

The same pause applies to the other two recoverable CFD rules: Profit Concentration on Instant accounts, and the thin-liquidity window, which allows at most 20% of profit from trades opened and closed between 21:00:00 and 22:59:59 UTC. None of the three reduces a split or ends an account.

## Futures: the 30-second rule

On futures accounts the line is drawn at 30 seconds. Microscalping, holding trades under 30 seconds, is allowed, but at most 50% of your profit may come from it. Until you are back under 50%, the evaluation cannot pass and a payout cannot be requested; the account stays open.

## What the risk desk reviews

High-frequency trading built to exploit execution speed rather than a market view is prohibited, and whether it happened is decided by a person, not by a detector. Among what the desk looks at: more than 30 order requests in a minute, or 20 or more trades under 30 seconds that make up 60% or more of your trades. Every practice reviewed by hand is listed on [Trading rules, explained](https://whitepips.com/rules#manual-review) .

## Trading short holds without tripping the limit

- **Watch the share of profit.** The rule measures how much of the profit came from trades under 120 seconds, not how many such trades there were.
- **Let winners run past two minutes.** A winning trade held for 120 seconds or more is not a scalp, whatever its size.
- **Treat 20% as a ceiling.** If quick trades are part of your method, keep them a minority of what the account makes.
- **Know where you stand.** If a payout is paused by the rule, the dashboard names it with its reading and its limit.

## Questions traders ask

**Is scalping allowed at WhitePips?** Yes, on CFDs and futures. Once a CFD account is funded, trades held under 120 seconds may carry at most 20% of its profit; on futures, trades held under 30 seconds may carry at most 50%.

**Does the scalping limit apply during the evaluation?** Not on CFD evaluations, in either phase; it applies from the start on Instant accounts, which are funded at purchase. On futures the 50% microscalping limit applies in the evaluation too.

**What happens if my scalping profit goes over 20%?** Payouts on that account are paused until profit from longer trades brings the share back under 20%. It is never a breach and never closes the account.

**Can an expert advisor scalp?** An expert advisor you developed and control is allowed, and the same limits apply to its trades. Bought, rented or mass-market bots are not allowed, however they trade.
